"Make your work to be in keeping with your purpose."
Leonardo Da Vinci
Although known for the Mona Lisa, the Vitruvian Man, and The Last Supper, Leonardo Da Vinci only painted about 15 works during his life. Almost 500 years since his death, the genius of Da Vinci has never been rivalled.
A commemorative edition of the 1938 Edward MacCurdy compilation of Da Vinci's journals (over 20,000 pages) includes writings and illustrations on almost every subject imaginable: anatomy, medicine, biology, zoology, hydraulics, engineering, optics, architecture, aeronautics, and physics. It includes not only the preparatory drawings for The Last Supper, but also the designs for a flying machine, created hundreds of years before Kitty Hawk, North Carolina!
When it came to wealth, Leonardo had very little of it. Aside from a small estate near Milan, Italy, Da Vinci owned very little. Many of the projects he was commissioned for could last as long as three years. During that time, he would be given room and board and his daily needs would be met.
I won't begin to speculate about Da Vinci's purpose in life or what inspired him to create the wonderful things he did. Perhaps American historian and writer, Walter Isaacson can shed some light:
We get a last glimpse of him in 1517, well settled in France but frail, when the secretary for the Cardinal of Aragon recorded a visit. "Leonardo is still in possession of a portrait of 'a certain Florentine lady,' and two other paintings that appear equally impressive. He shows off his notebooks, calling them 'an infinity of volumes,' and the account continues, 'If these were to be brought to light they would be both useful and delightful.' ”
The Secret Lives of Leonardo Da Vinci, Claudia Roth Pierpont, The New Yorker, October 9, 2017
At the end of his life, it appears that Da Vinci's desire was that his work and ideas would be shared with the world. Perhaps he just wanted to be remembered . Either way, his "work was in keeping with his purpose."
Many people are misled by the idea that getting more money is all it will take for them to experience more freedom in life, but that is almost never the case. In fact, the path to genuine freedom around money is to begin with a purpose that is greater than money itself.
When our choices align with our sense of who we are, what we stand for, and what we are committed to, we may experience a very real sense of satisfaction and contentment. No matter what choices you face, the first step is to connect with your true purpose. Discovering your true purpose, for life and for money, can pave the way for long-lasting satisfaction and fulfillment.
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."

How Do Investors Protect Themselves?
By Mark Matson
Your portfolio is trying to tell you something. Are you listening?
It is amazing the number of investors whose risk tolerance does not align with their portfolio allocation. "I'm aggressive" or "I'm conservative" is no longer adequate or suitable in today's investing environment.
How much risk do you feel comfortable with? How much risk do you need to reach your goals? How much risk are you currently taking? Your portfolio is desperately trying to tell you this and much more. Are you listening?

Be An Advocate
Do you want to empower families in discovering their True Purpose for Money?
Do you want to help equip others to defeat the Wall Street bullies?
Do you want to see families discover for themselves how investing works and to be left with the knowledge to make powerful choices for themself, their family, and their future?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you can be an advocate for those you love and care about.
Here's how simple it is:
1) Invite someone to join you at one of our upcoming events.
2) Forward this to someone you care about.
Most people will not pursue these things without someone like you advocating for them.
